First and Only

Well, he's only done it once, but he did do it! He lifted his leg on our morning walk today. Woo hoo, he's a big boy now! He was back to squatting by this afternoon, but he's definitely on his way to being a MAN. And he weighs 54 pounds, but still looks lithe. He got a cookie for letting me pick him up 4 times, trying to hold him while getting onto the silly scale, and looking over his back to read what it said!

Hardy Meets His Aunt Coco

Santa Barbara Show Photos

Here's Hardy at the shows in Santa Barbara. He was a very good boy and we had a great trip! The location was lovely and there were trees and shade, and big rings, and great people.

Hardy Goes to the Beach

We are in Santa Barbara for a "holiday" and dog show. We decided to take Hardy to the beach after his show day today, and then to Petco for another bath. We actually planned to do the same thing manana, but Hardy didn't really think it was all that fun. He mostly barked at the water! He loved the seaweed and enjoyed grabbing it and throwing it in the air, but he also liked to run across sunbathers!! It wasn't a dog beach - it was a beach where you can bring your dog. Some of the people loved him and didn't mind, but - um - not everyone.

Hardy and Meadow Makin' Friends

Well, I don't know that friends is the right word, but Meadow tolerates Hardy. He likes to hold her down with his paw. She puts up with that for a few minutes at a time, then wriggles free and runs into the kitchen and to the top of the cabinets.

Sarge's Big Win

Puppy Sarge got Winners Dog, beating 6 dogs (including Hardy.) Here are some pictures of the two of them, and just Hardy with Karen Bruneau, who handled him yesterday and today. Hardy was a good boy today, but it was very hot, and he was complaining rather loudly that he wanted a drink of water...

Sarge and Hardy

Sarge just turned 6 months, and was in the ring today with Hardy. He was terribly cute and frisky, and turned himself out nicely and beat Hardy so it was all over very quickly today! We are happy it was here in Torrance, so we were home by 11. It was 94 degrees F. there, and 20 degrees cooler at home.

Sick as a Dog

Well, I was sick as a dog, but we got Hardy down to his show in Vista. He had a great weekend, winning best of winners both days, and there was a group judging for best puppies in the Working Group and Hardy placed 4th. Wowee. I was too sick to participate in anything, but Sunday afternoon got one picture of him as he was posing for his winner's shot. Here's a 9 minute video of the whole weekend of Hardy and Tug, his well-known and supremely handsome and sweet Grandpa.
